Live location sharing: when it runs and how to stop it

The app shares your location only between On My Way and starting the job, so the office and the customer can see your ETA.

Before you start

  • Location permission for the Ormi Field app. The app asks the first time you tap On My Way.

When it runs#

  • It starts when you tap On My Way, after you agree on the "Allow background location for live job tracking?" screen.
  • It stops when you tap Start job or Undo En route.
  • It does not run if your company has turned tracking off.

Stop sharing early#

  1. Tap the "Sharing location..." banner on the job (Tap to stop), or open Location Sharing.
  2. Tap Stop sharing, then Stop to confirm.

What if this fails?

The customer's tracker shows no movement.
Check the app has location permission in Android settings, including "Allow all the time" for background sharing, and that sharing was not stopped.
